More Recital Pics

Recital Video

After reviewing the recital footage it was slim picking for a good clip.  Mom did the best she could but it was difficult to get a good position.

Friday night was Lainey's dance recital.

She did exceptionally well.

She stayed backstage with the other girls.

She stayed in her spot and followed directions when on stage.

She even stood up for herself with another dancer!

I was so proud!

Video to follow soon.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Lainey: I got a joke!

Me: O.K.

Lainey: Why did the chicken cross the road?

Me: Why?

Lainey: Because he liked to exercise!!

Endless giggling.

Lainey: Wait! I have another one!

Me: O.K.

Lainey: Why did the chicken go to the bathroom with the bologna sandwich?

Me: Hmm. Why?

Lainey: Because he wanted a bologna sandwich!

More giggles.

She went on and on.  Cracking herself up.

Hoola Hoopin'

Mommy-Lainey Day (including pics)

This Mommy-Lainey day we spent with Lainey's friend Mattison and her mom, Aubry at Six Flags.

The girls had so much fun!

We started out on the carousel--one of Lainey's favorite rides.

We then headed to "the cave" ride.  It was dark and loud and Lainey was NOT a fan.  Mattison wasn't too keen on it either.

Lainey and I then braved a little roller coaster with Mattison.  It did not go over well.  Lainey sat with Mattison and I sat behind them.  Mattison encouraged Lainey to scream.  Lainey did.  A desperate "Mmooommmy".  Luckily the ride was over quick.  And she recovered quickly.

Next up was a multitude of kiddie rides--mini tea cups, the airplanes, the mini swings, hot air balloons, the ferris wheel.

Mattison was very excited all day about the log ride so we headed there.  Lainey was not on board.  It looked too much like a roller coaster.  We waited in line with Mattison and Aubry.  I was hopeful that maybe Lainey would change her mind. No. So, we watched log after log drop and splash.

We closed out the day with a final ride on the carousel.

The girls were not happy to be leaving but once in the car they chatted it up all the way home!

Here's a glimpse of the day:
